shaiemagnifique asked: I've been searching for this information and I'm certain it is hidden in an interview somewhere on the interwebs… What is your favorite coffee? I heard you like it strong, but light roast? dark roast? arabica? --Shaie

tmbgareok:

JF: to paraphrase the fellow at the end of the bar, we like the cup that is in front of us. The early days of the band were fueled but impossible dosages of Cafe Bustello (which is not so terrific tasting, but will make you JUMP) and the ubiquity of Starbucks across the country was a welcome improvement to our touring reality. A few months back I had Bustello at Linnell’s house and I was kind of surprised he’s stuck to it. I get various beans—often from Porto Rico Coffee Importing in NYC. French roast is my regular jam, but I think I might actually like Columbian more….

Remember when Moses (who would probably look Iraqi by today’s geopolitics) and the female relative of the Egyptian ruler were somehow white-looking, but the relative’s lackeys were somehow not-white-looking? …because I don’t.

usefulandstrange asked: Why does Dylan live at the Empire State (rather than King Kong)?

tmbgareok:

JF: I couldn’t make out the words on the original recording—so I made up the change!

I always read/heard it as “the Empire State” and “Where Dylan lived”, being two different items (with the implication that one couldn’t recall where Dylan lived, but instead summarizing it as, “you know, that place where Dylan lived. It was in Sid & Nancy”)

These pics were taken one second apart
Lightning is REALLY BRIGHT

That’s the thing though, this isn’t lightning. The photos were both taken in daytime, the right photo being the normal condition. What you’re seeing in the left photo is a darkning strike.
Darkning is 50,000 times more rare than lightning, in fact most storms will never have a single instance of it. But when static charges between clouds become so energized that the electricity begins to form its own gravity, a black hole like the one created at CERN is briefly formed, sucking up all the light in the area and resulting in a brief “unflash” of darkning.
Less dangerous than lightning, Darkning lasts for a shorter time and you’d have to be within the event horizon to be harmed by it. Despite thousands a year dying of lightning strikes, only one man has ever been recorded as killed in a darkning strike, and that man was Lewis Caroll, author of Alice in Wonderland, which many historians believe he wrote based on that strange and fatal experience.

Wow.

this is the least real thing on the planet

this has twenty one thousand notes and there are floating pieces of concrete in the air

They’re not floating, it looks like they broke off and are falling as the photo was taken.

that’s because whoever made this sucks at photoshop

Whether it’s photoshopped or not, the “floating” pieces are clearly solid objects, separate from any possible vertical wall, so it’s not like they somehow missed pieces of the building when erasing it. More likely, the photographer took the photo as the staircase was beginning to collapse.

everything from the red part up doesn’t exist in real life

right here

And note the repeating parts on the surviving wall bits.
I wouldn’t be surprised if one could find the original falling blocks somewhere in the rubble below, as well.
